Andrew Thomas

From the New Mexican desert to the terrains of Russia, Navajo flute player Andrew Thomas will be departing his homeland for an international tour in Russia this coming April.

Thomas' upcoming tour will be from April 4 to the 10. He will start off in Ussuriysk and end in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Sakhalin.

"Russia is an area I've never been," Thomas said.

He's excited about his tour because there are other indigenous people in Russia and he wants to learn about their way of life. Thomas is being taken to Russia by Bronitsky and Associates from Albuquerque and the U.S. Consulate in Vladivostok, Russia.

Thomas has been playing the flute for over 20 years, and since then he's gotten the opportunity to tour the world. The first international tour he took was in 1994 when he visited Austria, Germany and South Korea.
