5 contestants compete for top prizes at annual Shonto show

The sheer satisfaction and pride that comes from owning a “rez car” and a “rez dog” is what attracted two more competitors this year.

Then of course there’s the tuning. There isn’t anything the Diné are afraid of doing like repairing components with duct tape, reinforcing components with wires, and doing the unthinkable to cars.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to tell that the overwhelming trend of this year’s Rez Car Show was the Chevy.

Now in its second year, the Rez Car Show took place here prior to the 6th annual Rock the Canyon at the newly established Eddie Shootinglady Pavilion where five individuals – Stan Goodman, Kleo Greyeyes, Jacque Johnson, Erik “Cheeto” Laughter, Amos Noelson – vied for the “Rezziest Rez Ride” title.
