This past December New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez said she would come back to Nizhoni Elementary for a visit.

On Wednesday, she did. Only this time the governor returned with former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, a staunch supporter and leader in U.S. educational reform initiatives, and New Mexico Secretary of Education Hanah Skandera to celebrate the achievements of Nizhoni Elementary, which went from an F to B under the state's A-F School Grading System.

"You went from an F and to a B, and you earned it," Martinez said to the 20 or so Nizhoni Elementary students that were able to attend the March 26 celebration.

The students, like the rest of the Central Consolidated School District, are on their spring breaks this week.
