Senator John Pinto and Navajo Nation President Ben Shelly break ground for US 491 on Aug. 20.



The final stretch of paving for U.S. Highway 491 is officially underway as Navajo Nation and New Mexico officials gathered along the highway to break ground for the final phase.

U.S. 491 runs from Gallup to Shiprock and serves as the major highway connecting the Four Corners area and to Interstate 40.
