Navajo Nation Council Speaker

As speaker and on behalf of the 23rd Navajo Nation Council, it is my honor to congratulate Mr. Russell Begaye and Mr. Jonathan Nez for being elected by our Diné citizens to serve and lead the great Navajo Nation. My colleagues and I look forward to working with your administration in the years to come for the betterment of the Navajo Nation.

The Navajo people have spoken and now it is our time to work cooperatively and aggressively to serve our people and our communities. As you are well aware, we have many issues to address and we owe it to the Navajo people to work aggressively to produce results.

I instructed staff with the Office of the Speaker to initiate meetings with our newly elected leaders to ensure that we begin a working relationship built on mutual respect, accountability, and trustworthiness.

Having served alongside both Mr. Begaye and Mr. Nez as members of the Navajo Nation Council, I am confident that together the executive and legislative branches will serve the Navajo Nation well. Once again, I congratulate our president-elect and vice president-elect.
