Eleven former members of the Navajo Nation Council and one current member have been going through ethics hearings in the past three months before the Office of Navajo Hearings and Appeals.

Most have agreed to settle or are in negotiations for a settlement, according to documents released by the Hearings and Appeals office on Tuesday. In the one case involving a current member of the Council, the special prosecutor agreed to accept restitution but did not require the Council delegate to step down as a delegate.

All of these cases deal with misuse of tribal discretionary funds and were filed by the Office of the Special Prosecutor for the Navajo Nation.
