Navajo Times All-Star awards ceremony set for Dec. 5

WINDOW ROCK, Dec. 5, 2013

The Navajo Times will proceed with its 013 Navajo Times All-Star awards ceremony today, Dec. 5 at the at the Phil Thomas Performing Arts Center in Shiprock, N.M.

Due to the winter storm on Wednesday and Thursday, the Times sports department had considered postponing the event. However, due to a number of reasons, the ceremony will proceed as planned.

The athletes who were named to the 2013 Navajo Times All-Star team, including the athletes and coaches of the year, for the fall sports season will still be honored.

Doors will open at 9 a.m.

Athletes and coaches are encouraged to bring their school uniform tops for a photo session, which will begin promptly at 10 a.m.

Shiprock High football coach Roderick Denetso will deliver the keynote address.

A representative may accept an award for any athlete.
