Former Los Lunas player Tinaya Murphy (12) steals the ball from a Roswell player in this March 15, 2013 file photo during the New Mexico Class 4A state title game in Albuquerque. Murphy is now playing to the Haskell women's basketball team.

This season, Haskell Indian Nations University women's basketball team is showcasing some of the area's finest basketball players.

Jenine Coriz, Arnetia Begay and Tinaya Murphy are all representing what Native American athletes in the state of New Mexico have to offer at the collegiate level.

The three are helping the Lady Indians as they battle through the Midlands Collegiate Athletics Conference post season. Haskell is currently ranked No. 4 in the conference (10-3 overall, 4-3 in conference) and the three are contributing to the team's efforts.
Haskell head women's coach Shane Flanagan said the area athletes have all contributed to the team and school's success.
