Red Mesa girls No. 1 after beating Red Valley/Cove

The Red Mesa Lady Redskins are the new team to beat in Division IV Section I.

The Lady Redskins defeated Red Valley/Cove 58-27 on Tuesday night. The win makes them No. 1 in their section and undefeated with a record of 9-0.

Red Mesa head coach Sandy Benally said the team has used teamwork to their advantage.

"We're really getting down with working together, helping each other out," he said. "This is new. It's been a long time since Red Mesa's been up here. Everybody's gunning for us."
