Mendoza decides to step down as basketball coach

After 37 years and coaching nearly 1,000 games, Mendoza said it was time to retire from the sport he loves. He said he will continue to live in Holbrook and hopes to continue as the Roadrunners' head cross-country coach.
"As far as coaching again, for now I have to say that I am done," Mendoza said. "My reasons for stepping down can be many but the main reason that it is time."
