The Kirtland Central softball team might be the smallest team in District 1-4A but don't let that fool you. Going into their home invitational, the 2014 KCHS Webb Toyota Tournament, held April 4-5, the Lady Broncos (4-8) wanted spectators to know that they're ready to compete.

After sweeping the tournament with three consecutive wins they made their statement.

“This shows that we aren't going to quit and we're going to keep fighting,” said KC head coach Roddy Yellowman.

“I told the girls we need to beat them. We're a strong team. The girls showed it out here, especially in the championship game.”

The Lady Broncos defeated Fort Wingate (10-0), Santa Fe Indian School (4-0), and the Shiprock Lady Chieftains (6-0) in the championship game.
