Navajo Times | Donovan Quintero
Navajo Nation Police Officer Shawna Watchman sprays Criminal Investigator Gilbert Yazzie with disinfectant against COVID-19 before he walks into a home to investigate a death that may have been due to the deadly virus in Window Rock. Yazzie and another police officer wore Tyvek suits, N95 masks, safety glasses, and nitrile gloves before entering the home, located across from the Education Center, on Tuesday afternoon. After an investigation, Silver Creek Mortuary arrived and took the body away. As of Tuesday night, the Navajo Nation Department of Health reported 13,744 COVID-19 cases and 605 deaths. A three-week “shelter-in-place” order is in effect.
