Canal irrigation system lecture series

PHOENIX – Pueblo Grande Museum pays homage to the incredible prehistoric canal irrigation system upon which Phoenix was built with a free lunchtime lecture series, “Water Works: Settling the Salt River Valley,” in October. “Ancient Waterways of Life: Hohokam Irrigation Systems of the Salt River Valley” is set for Oct. 13, from noon to 1 p.m., and “The Story of Modern Water in the Valley” is set for Oct. 20, from noon to 1 p.m. Museum admission is not required to attend these free lectures.
