Christine Stewart- Dickinson

NASCHITTI, N.M. — Funeral services for Christine Ann Stewart-Dickinson, 51, of Naschitti, will be held Saturday, March 11, at 9 a.m. at the Christian Reform Church in Naschitti, with Eugene Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at the Naschitti community cemetery.

Christine was born Dec. 25, 1965, in Gallup, into the Nóóda’i dine’é (Ute Clan), born for Kinyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan). She died March 5, 2017, in Phoenix.

Christine attended Job Corps in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was employed as a registered nurse. She enjoyed her family and traveling.

Christine is survived by her daughters, LaVonda Dickinson-Adamczyk, Sabrina Dickinson and Aprielle Wilson; parents, Mari Sam and Freddie Stewart Sr.; brother, Melvin Stewart; sisters, Thelma Antonio and Fannie Skeets; and three grandchildren.

Christine is preceded in death by her husband, Micheal Dickinson; daughter, Michelle Dickinson; brother, Eddie Stewart; grandmothers, Dora Hennet and Marie Stewart; and grandfathers, Governor Hennet and Lee Stewart.

A reception will take place at Naschitti Chapter House following services.

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Harrison Denetso

ALBUQUERQUE — Funeral services for Harrison Denetso, 65, of Cañoncito, New Mexico, will be held Saturday, March 11, at 10 a.m. at Garcia Mortuary in Albuquerque, with Evangelist A.J. Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the family cemetery.

Harrison passed away March 2, 2017, in Phoenix.

Harrison is survived by his wife, Evelyn Mexicano Denetso; son, Virgil H. Denetso; daughters, Vivian Denetso Lucero and Violet Denetso; brother, Leonard Juan; sister, Linda Denetso; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Harrison is preceded in death by Harrison Denetso Jr., Pat Denetso, Mary Johnson Denetso, and Alexsandra Trujillo. Pallbearers will be Joshua Tom, Waiko Ganadonegro, Micheal Shebala, Arliss Williams, Brandon Brody and Kevin Villalobos.

Honorary pallbearers will be Virgil Denetso, Andrew Dailey, Delvin Lucero and Fernando Smith Jr.

A reception will take place at the Cañoncito Desiderio Center following services.

Daniels Family Funeral Services-Alameda Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Ben J. Long

GALLUP — Funeral services for Ben J. Long, 74, were held March 8 at Rollie Mortuary in Gallup. Interment followed at the Gallup City Cemetery.

Ben was born March 15, 1941, into the Táchii’nii (Red Running Into the Water People Clan), born for Haltsooi (Meadow People Clan). He passed away at the Gallup Indian Medical Center.

Ben enjoyed all sports, going to squaw dances, helping out with Yé’ii Bi Chei dances, being around his grandchildren, sheepherding and telling stories with friends.

Ben is survived by his wife, Pricilla Long; sons, Danedict J. Long, Benedict J. Long and Jerry J. Long; and daughters, Judy Long and Benita Long.

Ben is preceded in death by his mother, Yenebah Neswood Long; and father, Joe Long.

Pallbearers were Jason Long, Paulson Long, Nathaniel Long, JD Skeet, Guy Smith Jr. and Ronnie Lee Jr.

Rollie Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
