Ganado Hornets shuts down Hopi Bruins

BURNSIDE JUNCTION
Ganado’s all-around performance was too much for Hopi to handle as the Hornets blanked the Bruins, 65-0, in a season opening freedom football game at Hornet Stadium at Burnside Junction.
For first-year Ganado head coach Mike Bitsuie, it was his first victory as the Hornets’ skipper.
Bitsuie said the Hornets worked hard during practice and it paid off.
“The team played well on all phases of the game, offense, defense and special teams,” Bitsuie said. “We played aggressive on defense. Our defense forced turnovers, giving us the opportunity to score.”
Bitsuie said the Hornets’ offense did an excellent job, from the linemen to the backfield.
“Offensively, we executed on our possessions,” he said. “Our offensive line blocked well and our running backs ran hard. Our quarterback Herman Kee read the defensive secondary well. We didn’t throw the ball as much. Herman did a good job for one half of play.”
