Board of Directors Member<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Navajo Times Publishing Company, Inc. (\u201cNTPC, Inc.\u201d) is currently accepting resumes for one position on its five-member Board of Directors. NTPC, Inc. is an award-winning weekly newspaper and is a Navajo owned for-profit corporation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n NPTC, Inc. is looking for a person with a professional background in the newspaper publishing industry, and\/or with substantial education and experience in media, communications, business, or related academia. Specific examples include expertise and knowledge in one or more of the following areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Direct experience with newspaper or print publications<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Experience with local, regional, state or national media<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Connections and awareness of local or tribal business community<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Marketing and advertising<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Executive management<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Law \u2013 media, intellectual property, tribal and state law<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Finance and accounting<\/p>\n\n\n\n Members of the Board of Directors are expected to attend quarterly board meetings and specially called meetings and to serve on a board sub-committee. The expected time commitment is at least 10 hours per quarter. Previous board experience is helpful but not necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor\u2019s degree in Journalism, Communication, English, or a related field. Plus, three years of progressive work experience in reporting for a news or magazine publication or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a current valid state driver\u2019s license. Must have good communication skills and be able to travel and work flexible hours. Experience in covering hard news, hyperlocal news, sports, features, and taking photographs is preferred. Speaking and writing Din\u00e9 Bizaad are a plus.
