Police investigate death of St. Micheals man

WINDOW ROCK, September 5, 2013

T he FBI and Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety are investigating the death of a Navajo man from Arizona who was found lying in the weeds in a residential area in Gallup, N.M.

Vincent Smith Jr., 33, of St. Michaels, Ariz., was found with apparent head injuries on the morning of Aug. 18 on Old Zuni Drive.

He was unresponsive and lying on the ground near his blue and tan Ford F-150 truck.

Smith was transported to Gallup Indian Medical Center, where he died later that day.
