12-year-old arrested for criminal sexual contact

GALLUP, Oct. 11, 2013

The McKinley County Sheriff’s Officer reported Oct. 4 the arrest of a 12-year-old Ramah boy who was charged with inappropriately touching a six year old.

Sheriff officials said the boy was charged with criminal sexual contact of a minor and is now undergoing a medical evaluation.

The arrest of the boy occurred after the mother of the girl went outside to see what she was doing and found her daughter crying with some of her clothing removed. She saw the boy touching her.

When confronted, police said the boy ran away. He was later arrested when the mother called the sheriff’s office and reported that he was seen riding his bicycle near her house.
