Although his GPA was just a B+, it was enough for Levi James to be valedictorian of his graduating class.

He was also salutatorian, the best athlete and the most likely to succeed.

Of course, he didn't have much competition. James was the only person to graduate from Wildcat Christian Academy's high school this year.

"It was kind of sad, because I didn't have anyone to share the experience with," James said in a telephone interview. "But it was kind of fun too, because the graduation ceremony was all about me. It was good for my self-esteem."

James said Wildcat, in Tse Bonito, N.M., has always been a small high school, with just 18 students when he was going there. But he didn't expect to be the only one graduating.
