Native 'Idol' contestant advances to 'Hollywood Week'

The term "one in thousands" never meant more as Native American Aranesa Turner goes to Hollywood, Calif. in hopes of being the next "American Idol."

"American Idol" is a singing reality show where three judges visit different cities across America, sitting through thousands of auditions to determine the lucky few who are deemed worthy of competing for the status of America's next star.

The show is hosted by Ryan Seacrest and judged by Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr.

At the beginning of the season "American Idol" airs the audition episodes showcasing which American Idol hopeful got to advance to Hollywood, and California Native Turner, 20, took her shot at auditioning in San Francisco. The episode aired on Jan. 16.
