Language is at the heart of Diné identity, carrying with it stories, traditions, and a worldview deeply rooted in the land and history of the Navajo people. As Diné poets, educators, and language advocates work to sustain Diné Bizaad, many are embracing poetry, playwriting, and performance as tools for preservation and revitalization.Aresta Tsosie-Paddock is Naakaii Dine’é and born for Bįįh Bitoodnii. On Saturday, March 1, within the beautiful landscape of Monument Valley Tribal Park, is one of the most enduring races in the Navajo Nation, the Monument Valley Ultra. Featuring a 50k race and a trail half marathon, this event has been running for 10 years to promote health and wellness across the Nation.

Across Indian Country, it is not uncommon to find many communities with members who have served in the military or are currently active duty. Native Americans have a lengthy history with U.S. military service, especially the Navajo Nation. “Honor Song,” a short documentary by Ryan Begay, is a deep dive into this history and pays tribute to the Native American veterans in New Mexico.
