Navajo Co. Sheriff’s report, Jan. 3-9

HOLBROOK

The Navajo County Sheriff’s Office reports the following activity from Jan. 3 to Jan. 9. On Jan. 3, deputies were dispatched to Kachina Gardens Apartments on a report of an assault in progress. Shania Begay, 25, of Winslow, was arrested for trespassing. Marsha James, 30, of Winslow, was arrested for disorderly conduct. Begay was booked into the Navajo County Jail and James was cited and released on scene for disorderly conduct-domestic violence.

On Jan. 7, deputies were dispatched to Joseph City for reports of a possible disorderly situation. Deputies found Bronsen Hubbard, 30, of Joseph City, who was intoxicated and inside his running vehicle. Upon investigation, Hubbard and his girlfriend, Keanu Taylor, 26, of Joseph City, were involved in a domestic violence situation. Hubbard was arrested on multiple domestic violence and DUI charges and booked into the Navajo County Jail. Taylor was cited and released on multiple domestic violence charges.

On Jan. 7, deputies were dispatched to the Hopi Travel Plaza on reports of a vehicle theft and display of a firearm. Deputies were unable to identify the suspects or locate the stolen vehicle, described as a tan-colored Toyota Tacoma bearing an Arizona license plate of CMW5484. On Jan. 8, deputies were dispatched to the Navajo County Governmental Complex located in Holbrook on a report of a vehicle actively being damaged. Eric Kanuho, 27, of Winslow, was arrested and booked into the Navajo County Jail on several counts of felony criminal damage.

On Jan. 8, deputies were dispatched to Sun Valley Road on a report of a male cutting a three-string, barbed-wire fence. John Culpepper, 45, of Sun Valley, was arrested on a charge of criminal damage and booked into the Navajo County Jail.

On Jan. 9, deputies were dispatched to Interstate 40 to attempt to locate a possible drunk driver. Deputies located the vehicle and arrested Destiny Benally, 19, of Holbrook on multiple DUI charges and possession of alcohol under the age of 21. The passenger, Dinesha Yellowhair, 19, of California, was arrested on possession of alcohol and marijuana under 21 years of age. Both were booked into the Navajo County Jail.
