Body found in Gallup identified

A body found in Gallup Wednesday in a ditch near the railroad tracks has been identified as Duane “DC” Crawford, 56, who had last been seen leaving the Na Nizhozhi Center on July 3, said Gallup Police Lt. Rosanne Morrissette.

Morrissette said there is no suspicion of foul play.

Crawford family members had been looking for him ever since he disappeared while putting out flyers, but they did not inform the police or the media which was why when the body was found, law enforcement officers at first could not match the description of the body with someone who was known to be missing.

Crawford’s body was found north of the 600 block of East Historic Highway 66 in a ditch.
