
Council approves health priorities, weighs communication strategy

A heated debate emerged during last week’s Naabik’íyáti’ Committee meeting as delegates discussed how to structure health policy directives in official communications with the federal government.
The debate centered on Legislation 0056-25, sponsored by Delegate Vince R. James, which declares the committee’s support of the Navajo Nation’s health priorities for upcoming consultations with Washington, but a proposed amendment prompted deeper questions about tribal communications and federal relations.
