Sadie J. Yazzie
LUKACHUKAI, Ariz. — Funeral services for Sadie J. Yazzie, 93, of Round Rock, Ariz., will be held today, Aug. 25, at 10 a.m. at the St. Isabel Catholic Church in Lukachukai, Arizona. Burial will follow in Lukachukai.
Sadie was born Feb. 15, 1923, in Round Rock, into the Tó’aheedlíinii (The Water Flows Together Clan), born for Tótsohnii (Big Water Clan). She died Aug. 20, 2016, in Flagstaff.
Sadie is preceded in death by her parents, Mare L. and Tótsohníí Yazzie; and daughters, Marie Hardy and Mary J. Yazzie.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Susie Mae McArthur
FORT DEFIANCE — Funeral services for Susie Mae McArthur, 76, of Fort Defiance, will be held today, Aug. 25, at 10 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Fort Defiance, with James D. Bennett Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Deer Springs.
Susie was born April 10, 1940, in Cow Springs, into the Deeshchii’nii (The Red Ridge People Clan), born for Lók’aa dine’é (Reed People Clan). She died Aug. 20, 2016, in Fort Defiance.
Susie was a homemaker, rug weaver, and seamstress. She enjoyed listening to the radio, traveling, and crossword puzzles.
Susie is survived by her sons, Vernon McArthur and Royd Jewelryman; daughters, Laverne McArthur, Geraldine McArthur and Conarita Billie; parents, Eugene Jewelryman and Nellie L. Yazzie; brothers, Leroy and Roy Jewelryman; sisters, Lillie Burns, Phoebe Boone, Freida Begay, Iva Yazzie, and Ida Yazzie; grandparents, Hastiin Littleman and Gertrude Jim; and 24 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Susie is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth McArthur; and son, Eugene McArthur.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Wauneka, Kenneth Wauneka, Byron McArthur, Royd Jewelryman, Cornelius Billie, Vernon McArthur Sr., Vernon McArthur Jr., and Henry Billie Jr.
A reception will take place in Sawmill, following services.

Mary Agnes Walker
ST. MICHAELS, Ariz. — Funeral services for Mary Agnes Walker, 91, of St. Michaels, were held Aug. 24 at the Mary Mother of Mankind Church in St. Michaels, with Father Jose Gutay officiating. Interment followed at the St. Michaels community cemetery.
Mary was born Aug. 12, 1925, in St. Michaels, into the Áshiihí (Salt People Clan), born for Tó’áhaní (Near the Water Clan). She died Aug. 20, 2016, in Fort Defiance.
Mary graduated from St. Michael School in 1937 and was employed with the Navajo Nation. She was also a seamstress, and livestock rancher. She enjoyed cooking, baking, weaving, herding sheep, traveling, and attending motorcycle rallies.
Mary is survived by her sons, Clement Walker, Robert David Curley of Inscription House, Raymond Curley, Leo Curley, and Johnny Curley of St. Michaels; daughters, Eleanor R. Hubbell, Loretta R. Metteba, and Vikki Curley of St. Michaels; sisters, Mary Esther Towne of Show Low, and Katherine Lovato of Phoenix; and stepsister, Donna Mae Benally of Fort Defiance.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Charlotte D. Walker; son, Leonard Reeder Sr.; sisters, Mary Jane Walker, Ella Mae and Margaret Walker; and brothers, James Walker, Thomas Walker and Walter Walker.
Pallbearers were Johnny Curley, Leo Curley, Raymond Curley, Robert D. Curley, Raymond Metteba Jr., and Moraes Quimayousie.
Honorary pallbearers were Clement R. Walker, Ben Thomas and grandchildren.

Katherine Pinto Davis
REHOBOTH, N.M. — Funeral services for Katherine Pinto Davis, 82, were held Aug. 20 at the Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church. Interment followed at the Rehoboth cemetery.
Katherine was born May 10, 1934, in Vanderwagen, into the Dibé Lizhini (Black Sheep Clan), born for Naasht’ézhi dine’é (Zuni Clan). She died Aug. 16, 2016, in Albuquerque.
Katherine was employed as a rug weaver and silversmith at various places in Gallup. She enjoyed weaving, beading, quilting, cattle ranching, and being with her family.
Katherine is survived by her daughters, Lena D. Arviso, Elsie Belone and Loretta Arviso; and sons, Daniel Davis and Zaccheus Davis.
Katherine is preceded in death by her sons, Raymond Davis, Benjamin Davis, Augustine Davis, and Nelson Davis; mother, Alice Goodluck Pinto; and father, Joe Pinto Sr.
Pallbearers were Zaccheus Davis, Daniel Davis, Tye Arviso, Raiff Arviso, Chandler Morgan, and Matt Davis.
Rollie Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
Fannie Theresa Vann
FORT DEFIANCE, Ariz.
Fannie Theresa Vann, 76, of Fort Defiance, Arizona, died on Aug. 17, 2016, in Glendale, Arizona.
She was Big Water born for Many Goats Clan.
Funeral services will be held Aug. 26 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Fort Defiance. Reception will be at Fort Defiance Chapter House from 1 to 4 p.m.
