Evelyn Vera Barlow Johnson
NAVAJO MOUNTAIN, Ariz. – Funeral services for Evelyn Vera Barlow Johnson, 49, of Flagstaff, were held Nov. 28 at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Navajo Mountain. Interment followed at the family plot in Navajo Mountain.
Evelyn was born Aug. 15, 1965. She passed away Nov. 21, 2014.
Arrangements were under the direction of Norvel Owens Mortuary.

Kathleen Yellowhorse
BURNTWATER, Ariz. – Funeral services for Kathleen Yellowhorse, 73, of Sanders, Ariz., were held Nov. 26 at the family plot in Burntwater, Ariz., with memorial services following the burial.
Kathleen was bornÊAug. 24, 1941, into the Dibélzhini (Black Sheep Clan), born for Red Streak Water-Zuni Clan. She died Nov. 23, 2014, in Albuquerque.
Kathleen was a compassionate and selfless matriarch always caring for others. Her greatest attributes were caring for her son Poley, her husband, and maintaining two homes. She found comfort and received strength through devotion in the Baha’i’ faith and Navajo traditional teachings. Her priority in life was to provide family and others a welcoming, loving, and spiritual environment.
KathleenÊis survived by her husband, Paul Yellowhorse; daughters, Lois Watts of Alexandria, Va., and Katie Gilbert of Farmington; sons, Monte Yellowhorse of Santa Fe, Michael Yellowhorse of Blue Gap, Ariz., and Poley Yellowhorse of Alexandria; sister, Ruth Nelson;brother, Andy Morgan; and seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Maggie Morgan.
French Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Arloa Singer
CHILCHINBETO, Ariz. – Memorial services for Arloa Singer, 58, of Chilchinbeto, Ariz., are pending.
Arloa was born March 14, 2014, in Bellemont, Ariz. She died Nov. 28, 2014, in Farmington.
Arloa is in the care of Desert View Funeral Home in Shiprock.
Samuel Tsosie Sr.
PRESCOTT, Ariz. — Funeral services for Samuel Tsosie Sr., 91, were held Nov. 26 at the Prescott VA Chapel. Interment with military honors followed at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.
Samuel was born May 18, 1923, to Balone Begay. He died Nov. 23, 2014, in Prescott.
Samuel served in the Marine Corps with the 1st Marine Division with 2nd Battalion 5th Navajo Code Talker with service in the Pacific Theater. He worked with the Public Health Service in Winslow for 40 years and retired from Indian Health Service.
Samuel is survived by Dorothy, Gary, Francis, Loretta, LaVerne, Samuel Jr., and Caroline.
Samuel is preceded in death by his wife, son, and two daughters.
Services were entrusted to Heritage Memory Mortuary in Prescott.

Estella Mae Yazzie
SHEEPSPRINGS, N.M. — Funeral services for Estella Mae Yazzie, 68, of Sheepsprings, N.M., were held Dec. 1 at the Sheepsprings Pentecostal Church with George Toledo officiating. Interment followed at the Sheepsprings cemetery.
Estella was born April 11, 1947, in Two Grey Hills, N.M., into the Tl’ááshchi’i (The Red Bottom People Clan), born for Kiyaa’aanii (Towering House Clan). She died Nov. 23, 2014, in Albuquerque.
Estella was a homemaker. She enjoyed weaving, sand painting, cooking and going to church.
Estella is survived by her husband, Ellison Yazzie Sr.; sons, Ellison Yazzie Jr. and Duane J. Yazzie; daughters, Della Begay, Rebecca Silversmith, Alta Yazzie, and Rachel Emerson; parents, Chee McDonald and Martha McDonald; brothers, Robert McDonald, Billy McDonald and Cliff McDonald; sisters, Helen Anderson, Ida Dakis and Lorraine McDonald; grandparents, Hosteen Nez and Lady Red Bottom; and 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Estella is preceded in death by her brothers, Harry McDonald and Harold McDonald.
Pallbearers were Kevin Begay, Larris Begay, Larro Begay, Duane Yazzie, and Jerome Tsosie.
Tse Bonito Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
