Patrick R. Platero

GALLUP – Funeral services for Patrick Ray Platero, 49, of St. Michaels, Arizona, were held Dec. 23 at Rollie Mortuary in Gallup. Interment followed at Sunset Memorial Park.

Patrick was born May 11, 1976, in Crownpoint, into the Kiyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan), born for Mescalero Apache. He passed away Dec. 17, 2025, in Fort Defiance.

Patrick graduated from Crownpoint High School and was employed at Navajo Tribal Utility Authority as a laborer/groundskeeper. He loved listening to Wu-Tang, watching the Cleveland Browns play, traveling and spending time with family.

Patrick is survived by his wife, Winifred Watson; sons, Antonio Platero, Dominick Platero, Kevin Tsosie, and Nathan Tsosie; stepdaughter, Tenae Yazzie; mother, Ethelyn Negale; father, Jeffrey Platero; and sister, Cynthia Neswood.

Patrick is preceded in death by his son, Matthew Platero; and grandparents, Harding and Glinny Negale.

Pallbearers were Antonio Platero, Dominick Platero, Jeffrey Platero, Marco Neswood, Jethro Brown, and Cordell Teller.

Honorary pallbearers were R. Kenny, Lance Carroll and Kevin Tsosie.

Rollie Mortuary oversaw arrangements.


 

Vivian G. Woody

FLAGSTAFF – Funeral services for Vivian G. Woody, 67, of Cameron, Arizona, will be held Saturday, Dec. 27, at 10 a.m., at the Flagstaff Tabernacle (1201 W. Kaibab Lane).

Vivian G. Woody, Dec. 16, 1957 – Dec. 15, 2025

Vivian was born Dec. 16, 1957, into the Kinyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan), born for Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water Clan). Her nálí is Tł’ízíłání (Many Goats); cheii is Hashk’ąą Hadzohó (Yucca Fruit-Strung-Out-In-A-Line). She passed away Dec. 15, 2025.

Vivian retired as a medical dispatcher and enjoyed sewing and traveling.

Vivian is survived by her children, Alimah Damgaard (Paul), Oceanna, Jordon Woody (Chynnoa) and Rebekah Woody (Brendan); siblings, Violette Pavatea (Ronald), Vicky Klain (Walter), Larry Gordy (Betty) and Vernon Gordy (Liz); and eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Vivian is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Louise Gordy; and siblings, Lorraine and Leonard.

Pallbearers will be Alishua L., Joseph B., Lawrence P., Kevinston G., Tlaashchii G., Merle H. and Melvin G.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jordon W., Joey W., Noah W., Paul D., Lane D., Brendan B., Liam B., Bradyn B., Larry G., Trayston G., Vernon G. and Wyatt G.

A reception will take place at the Flagstaff Tabernacle following service.

Victor Davis

CHINLE – Graveside service for Victor Davis, 66, of Chinle, were held Dec. 24 in Chinle, with Denny Watchman officiating.

Victor was born Dec. 1, 1959, into the Tł’ááshchí’í (Red Bottom People Clan), born for Honágháahnii (One-walks-around Clan). He passed away Dec. 19, 2025, in Chinle.

Victor is survived by his wife, Colleen Watchman; son, Donovan Davis; daughters, Margaret Davis and Amanda Davis; and four grandchildren.

Victor is preceded in death by his mother, Genevieve Davis; father, John Ben; and sisters, Kathy and Vicky Davis.
