ROSEBURG, Ore. – Funeral services for Jennifer S. Shirley, 56, of Albuquerque, were held Jan. 26 at the Chapel of the Roses in Roseburg, Ore., with Dale Miller officiating. Interment followed in Klagetoh, Ariz.

Jennifer was born Dec. 28, 1960, in Oakland, Calif., into the Tábaahá (Water’s Edge Clan), born for Tódich’ii’nii (Bitter Water Clan). She died Jan. 18, 2016, in Roseburg.

Jennifer is survived by her sons, Raymond Roberts III of Albuquerque, and Dominic Roberts of Roseburg; daughter, Patricia Orchs of Roseburg; father, Edward Shirley Sr.; brothers, Edward Shirley Jr., Leonard Shirley, Edgar Shirley, and John Shirley; sisters, Marcella Arriola, Cynthia Shirley-Deschinny and Glenda Shirley; and three grandchildren.

Jennifer is preceded in death by her mother, Maggie Shirley; sister, Patricia Richmond; and grandparents, Ralph and Alice Jones, and Justin Edward and Annie Shirley.

Chapel of the Roses was in charge of arrangements.

REHOBOTH, N.M. – Funeral services for Brian Peterson, 30, will be held Friday, Jan. 29, at 10 a.m. at the Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church (30 Tse Yaaniichii Lane) in Rehoboth, N.M. Burial will follow at the Rehoboth community cemetery.

Brian was born Dec. 25, 1985, into the Tó’aheedliinii (Water Flow Together Clan), born for Kiyaa’aanii (Towering House Clan). He died Jan. 24, 2016.

Brian attended Church Rock Elementary School, JFK Middle School and the University of New Mexico-Gallup. He participated in the steer-wrestling event at the Lions Club Rodeo, Navajo Nation Fair, Whiteriver Apache Fair, and Gallup Ceremonial Rodeo. He enjoyed spending time with his son, brothers and family.

Brian is survived by his son, Braydon Lee Peterson; mother, Ethelene Peterson; sisters, Twyla Whitehair, Marsha Murphy, Clarencita Begay, and Michelle Peterson; and brothers, Quintin Peterson, Colton Peterson, Carletts Murphy, Shawn Murphy Sr., and Clarence Peterson Jr.

Brian is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Peterson Sr.

Pallbearers will be held Colton Peterson, Shawn Murphy Sr., Patrick Talk, Garrelson Lee, and Carletts Murphy.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Franklin Johnson Jr.

SANDERS, Ariz. – Funeral services for Franklin Johnson Jr., 16, of Houck, Ariz., will be held today, Jan. 28, at 10 a.m. at the LDS Church in Sanders, Ariz., with Preston Tom officiating. Burial will follow at the Houck community cemetery.

Franklin was born Jan. 15, 2000, in Page, Ariz., into the Áshiihi (Salt People Clan), born for Honágháahnii (One-walks-around Clan). He died Jan. 22, 2016, in Querino Canyon, Ariz.

Franklin was in the 10th grade at Valley High School in Sanders, and was interested in enlisting in the military after high school. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, football, welding, and spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies included playing video games, drawing and playing the guitar. He will be missed and will always be in our hearts.

Franklin is survived by his parents, Franklin and Vicky Johnson; brothers, Lethaniel Nelson and Kyle Johnson; sister, Tiffany Johnson; and maternal grandmother, Verda Nelson.

Franklin is preceded in death by his chei, Ivan Nelson; paternal grandparents, Fred and Ella Johnson; and cousin, Gerald Nelson.

Pallbearers will be Josh Tom, Nelson Wesley, Thomas Johnson, Micheal Parker, Gary Nez, and Jacob Moore.

A reception will take place at Houck Chapter House following services.

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Pastor Jones Dehiya

MARIANO LAKE, N.M. – Funeral services for Pastor Jones Dehiya, 73, of Mariano Lake, N.M., will be held Friday, Jan. 29, at 10 a.m. at the Mariano Lake Bible Ministry Church. Burial will follow at the family plot in Mariano Lake.

Pastor Dehiya was born into the Biih bitoodnii (Deer Spring Clan), born for Deeshchii’nii (Start of the Red Streak People Clan).

Pastor Dehiya is survived by his wife, Grace Dehiya.

Pastor Dehiya is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Angie Dehiya.
