Joyce Moore
GANADO, Ariz. — Funeral services for Joyce Moore, 73, of Cornfields, Arizona, will be held today, June 21, at 10 a.m. at the All Saints Catholic Church in Ganado, Arizona, with Brother Paul officiating. Burial will follow in Cornfields. Joyce was born Oct. 23, 1944, in Cornfields, into the Honágháahnii (One-walks-around Clan), born for Kiyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan). She died June 16, 2018, in Ganado.
Joyce graduated from high school and became a certified nursing assistant. She worked for the Navajo Tribe for 25 years and as a community health representative for 19 years. Joyce enjoyed helping people, especially children’s charities and veterans, reading the Bible, and traveling to meetings. Joyce is survived by her sons, William Bizadí Jr., Marvin Moore, Jerrell Chee, Ryan Friday, and Trent Friday; brothers, Arnold Friday and Raymond Friday; sisters, Marlene Friday, Lily Salway, Rosemary Sam, and Ella Merriman; and 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Phillip R. Moore; son, Darrell Roanhorse; and Brenton Nez, Shannon Salway, Marie Friday, Joseph Friday Jr., and Joseph Friday Sr. Pallbearers will be Ryan Friday, Wayne Merriman, Trent Friday, Raymond Moore, Everett Skeet, and Derek Etsitty. Honorary pallbearers will be William Bizadí Jr., Raymond Friday, and Arnold Friday. A reception will take place at the Cornfields Chapter House following services. Richard B. Singer Jr.
KAYENTA — A gravesite funeral service for Richard B. “Rick” Singer Jr., 60, will be held Saturday, June 23, at 4 p.m. (MDT) at the Kayenta community cemetery. Rick was born Oct. 5, 1957, in Bellemont, Arizona, into the Honágháahnii (One-walks-around Clan), born for Tódich’ii’nii (Bitter Water Clan). He passed away May 29, 2018, in Denver.
Rick graduated from Tuba City High School. He was recruited as an EMS for the Navajo Nation. In the years that followed, he relocated to Denver to study at Denver Pharmacy School and Blackfox Training Institute. He received training at Lockheed Martin and was employed by StorageTek in Denver. Long known for his positive outlook on life and his sense of humor, Rick was actively involved with the elderly program at the Denver Indian Center Inc., and the Native American Talking Circle at the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless and the Denver Public Library.
He was an avid Denver Broncos fan who watched NASCAR. His hobbies were leathercraft, photography, music, and spontaneous road trips to go hiking.
Rick is survived by his son, Reginal Singer of Clinton, Utah; and siblings, Elwood Gene Sr. of Kayenta, Lorraine Tsinaginnie, Lorretta Singer, Sharine Sonny of Flagstaff, Regina Sundseth of Santa Fe, Karen Garcia of Tucson, Beverly Thomas of Flagstaff, Patricia Osif of Kayenta, and Dawny Singer of Santa Fe.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Richard B. Singer Sr. and Katherine B. Singer; and siblings, Richard E. Singer, Ritchie Singe, and Arloa Singer. A reception will follow at the UMWA Union Hall on Highway 163 in Kayenta. The family would appreciate donations for funeral expenses at Wells Fargo. Darren Jay Lee
LANDER, Wyo. — Darren Jay Lee, 43, passed away June 17, 2018, in Riverton, Wyoming. Darren was born July 16, 1974, to Anslem Lee and Mary Jean Spoonhunter, in Lander, Wyoming. Darren graduated from Lander Valley High School and worked for the National Guard Armory. He received his certified nursing assistant license in 1994, working for Morning Star Care Center, Westward Heights, and the Wind River Rehabilitation Center.
Darren worked on a seismograph crew, construction flagging, on a fencing crew, and seasonal work in Idaho during the potato harvest for three seasons. He also worked at the 789 Truck Stop as a clerk in Riverton, at the Little Store in Gillette, Wyoming, and for Eagle Bronze in Lander.
Darren is survived by his parents, Anslem and Mary Jean Lee; adopted parents, Karen and Daniel C’Hair; wife, Windy C’Hair Lee; children Quentin Lee and Caitlin C’Bearing, Sierra Lee, and Isaac Lee; stepchildren Misty Richards, Leon Behan, and Madison Behan; granddaughters Tyann B. Garry J. Benally
GALLUP — A memorial service for Garry J. Benally, 47, will be held Saturday, June 23, at 11 a.m. at the Lighthouse International Ministries Church in Gallup. Garry was born April 5, 1971, in Shiprock, into the Honágháahnii (One-walks-around Clan), born for Tó’aheedlíinii (The Water Flow Together Clan). He died June 14, 2018, in Breadsprings, New Mexico.
Garry is survived by his brothers, Felix Benally and Gerald Benally. Garry is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Stella Benally of Sanders, Arizona; and father, Leonard Benally of Sanostee, New Mexico.
Garry graduated from Gallup High School in 1990 and enjoyed playing basketball, DJ music, watching movies, going to the gym, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Helen L. Domingo
PINEHILL, N.M. — Funeral services for Helen L. Domingo, 87, of Pinehill/Torreon, New Mexico, will be held Friday, June 22, at 11 a.m. at the Nazarene Church in Pinehill, with Jerry Domingo officiating. Burial will follow at the family plot in Pinehill.
Helen was born Jan. 10, 1931, in Ramah, New Mexico, into the Áshiihí/Ma’ii deeshgiizhinii (Salt People Clan/Coyote Pass—Jemez Clan), born for Ta’neeszahnii (Tangle Clan). She died June 14, 2018, in Bernalillo, New Mexico.
Helen attended Albuquerque Indian School and was employed as a cook at Earl’s restaurant in Gallup, teacher’s aide in Torreon, and was 2017 Masání of the Year at Torreon Senior Center. She enjoyed cooking, weaving, livestock, traveling, attending community meetings, picking piñons, camping, fishing, and outdoor living.
Helen is survived by her sons, Melvin Barney, Donald Barney, Mark Barney, Wilfred Barney, Veron Barney, Alex Domingo, Joe Domingo Jr., Ernie Domingo, and Karl W. Domingo; daughters, Laving Barney Gott, Priscilla Barney Castillo, Cecelia Barney Chinana, and Helena M. Domingo; brother, Albert Frank; and 54 grandchildren and 62 great-grandchildren.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Domingo Sr.; parents, Rafael Rafelito and Margaret Alonzo; sister, Alice Jake; and brothers, Wilson Rafelito, George Rafelito Jackson Rafelito, Tommy Frank, and Johnson Rafelito. Pallbearers will be Veron Barney, Ernie Domingo, Karl Domingo, Daniel Guerito, Logan Tsosie, and Wyzlord Gott. Ruth Bia Tracey
NAZLINI, Ariz. — Funeral services for Ruth Bia Tracey, 84, of Nazlini, Arizona, were held June 18 at the Solid Rock Baptist Church in Nazlini, with Pastor Fernando officiating. Interment followed in Nazlini. Ruth was born April 14, 1934, in Nazlini, into the Ta’neeszahnii (Tangle Clan), born for Ma’ii deeshgiizhinii (Coyote Pass Clan).
She died June 12, 2018, in Flagstaff.
Ruth was a homemaker, rancher, and seamstress, who enjoyed weaving rugs. Ruth is survived by her son, Arnold Tracey; brother, Austin Bia; and sisters, Lucy Bia, Helen Bia, Ilene Bia, and Lerna Bia. Ruth is preceded in death by Bernard Tracey Sr. Pallbearers were Luther Van Winkle, Eric Tsinijinnie, and Teddy Draper III.
Honorary pallbearers were Arnold Tracey and Austin K. Bia.

Virginia Sue Moses
CORNFIELDS, Ariz. — Funeral services for Virginia Sue Moses, 68, were held June 18 at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Cornfields, Arizona. Interment followed at the Cornfields cemetery.
Virginia was born June 28, 1949, at Sage Memorial Hospital in Ganado, Arizona, into the Tábaahá (Water’s Edge Clan), born for Kiyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan). Her chei is Edward Todach. She died June 11, 2018, in Irving, Texas. Virginia is survived by her brothers, Leroy Moses, Thomas Moses Jr., Max Moses, Marvin Moses Sr., and Wilfred Smith Jr.; and sisters, Verna Poncho, Julia Moses, and Willeta Smith.
Pallbearers were family members.

John Castillo Jr.
GALLUP — Funeral services for John Castillo Jr., 71, were held June 16 at the Rollie Mortuary Palm Chapel in Gallup. Interment followed at the Fort Defiance Veterans Cemetery.
John was born Aug. 24, 1946, into the Tó’aheedlíinii (The Water Flow Together Clan), born for Tl’ógí (Weaver-Zia Clan). He died June 12, 2018, in Flagstaff. John is survived by his wife, Elouise Castillo of Glendale, Arizona; sons, Jonah Castillo, Jonathan Tsosie, and Walter Castillo; and daughters, Janice Castillo of Glendale, and Rosalie.
Pallbearers were Jonah Jones, Nicholas Roan, Jackson Castillo, Aaron Castillo, Jonathan Tsosie, Emory Lee, and Jeffery John. Rollie Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
