Anthony Alfred Sorrell
TSE BONITO, N.M. — Funeral services for Anthony Alfred Sorrell, 34, of Navajo, N.M., were held Sept. 18 at the Community Bible Church in Tse Bonito, N.M., with Pastor Mark Thomas officiating. Interment followed at the family plot in Navajo.
Anthony was born Nov. 4, 1980, in Gallup, into the Tó’aheedliinii (The Water Flow Together Clan), born for Tsenabahilnii (Sleep Rock People Clan) and Gila River Pima Tribe. He died Sept. 10, 2015, in Phoenix.
Anthony graduated from Gallup Central High School in 2000. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing basketball, and listening to west coast hip-hop.
Anthony is survived by his girlfriend, Anjelica Morgan; daughter, Sienna Sorrell; parents, Tim Sorrell and Yolanda Shurley; brother, Dominic Sorrell; sister, Alfreda Jackson; and grandparents, Bernard Sr. and Annabelle Sorrell, and Rita Shurley.
Anthony is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Alfred Shurley; and paternal uncle, Bernard Sorrell Jr.
Pallbearers were Delfred Wallace, Nathaniel Shurley, Ryan Betsoi, Tim Wauneka, Gabriel Sorrell, and Jeremy Sorrell.
