
‘Address Navajo’ brings safety, services, and
long-awaited connections

For generations, the lack of physical addresses across the Navajo Nation has meant more than just missed mail. It has delayed emergency responders, complicated legal paperwork, and left families disconnected from essential services. Now, with a groundbreaking $35 million initiative, “Address Navajo” is systematically changing that reality.
With 81 chapters passing addressing resolutions and 44 already in field verification, two of which are fully certified by the U.S. Postal Service, the project is transforming how rural Navajo communities navigate daily life. In Upper Fruitland, chapter manager Alvis Kee has witnessed the dramatic improvements firsthand.
