In Tsébii’ndzisgaii, a drive-thru meal marks the season’s end

CANYON POINT, Utah
Cars began lining up before noon Sunday at the Monument Valley Welcome Center, stretching from the south parking lot toward the highway as families waited for a late Christmas luncheon.
The Community Christmas Drive-Thru Luncheon, held Dec. 28, brought together residents from Oljato and the surrounding area for a simple gesture that carried weight at the close of the year. Volunteers handed out boxed roast beef lunches and goodie bags as traffic moved steadily through the lot, with elders, families and workers exchanging waves and greetings through car windows.
Benedict Daniels, a maintenance technician with Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, said the gathering reflected how departments and chapters often come together quietly to meet community needs.
