CHINLE – Aaliyah Moorefield on Nov. 10 made history by being crowned Miss Silver State 2025, becoming the first Diné, Native American, mother, and U.S. Army Reserves member to claim the prestigious title. A proud representative of Diné heritage and a dedicated military servicewoman, Moorefield’s victory is a win for women everywhere who aspire to break barriers.
With roots in Becenti, New Mexico, Moorefield proudly showcased her heritage throughout the pageant, boldly displaying “Navajo Native” on her sash. Her win is not just a personal triumph but a historic moment for her community. Moorefield, who is Tsénahabiłnii, credits her upbringing and the teachings of her grandparents, Harry and Vivian Hubbard, for grounding her in the Diné traditions and values. Their dedication to preserving their culture has been a driving force in her life’s journey.
