The Forest Service is required by law to look after the lands it administers for the health and benefit of the land herself as well as for future generations of us five-fingered people. Until recently their commercial tenant, Snowbowl, has been pleased with the arrangement. The rest of us, not so much. But there are signs of big changes ahead.

As the ongoing coronavirus pandemic presents new challenges, I encourage everyone to reflect on what we have learned since the start of the pandemic nearly two years ago. We have collected a wealth of preventive knowledge and information about coronavirus; therefore, it is up to us to apply this to our daily routine. In November I shared some hopeful news about measures that each of us can take to mitigate the impact of COVID in our community. The children’s vaccine, the booster and the monoclonal antibody treatment offer the potential to strengthen our defenses against COVID and provide an opportunity for us to move beyond the current bleak outlook of the pandemic.
