Data center concerns

Editor,

Hello, my name is Monty Claw. I am submitting a letter to address my opposition to the Gallup Data Center at the Gallup Logistics Park. This is a concern that needs to be addressed and sent to the people of our community.

This also comes from effects of possible future industrial decisions made without the peoples notice or addresses to the matters at hand.

Freedoms remembered

Editor,

The Fourth of July is more than a celebration of our nation’s independence, it is a reminder to appreciate the freedoms that we are all blessed to enjoy every day – freedom of speech, freedom of religion, the right to vote, and the opportunity to pursue our unique dreams.

But these liberties did not come for free, they were earned through the courage and sacrifice of our service men and women. So as we gather for parades, barbecues and fireworks, let us also remember those who have protected our country and our freedoms for the past 250 years.

Here in northwest New Mexico, patriotism runs deep. Our region is home to a large population of veterans and military families, and Gallup has even been recognized as America’s most patriotic small town. I could not be prouder to serve and represent this beautiful, distinct, patriotic district in the New Mexico House of Representatives.

This Fourth of July, as we celebrate our nation and our freedoms, I also encourage members of our community to take time to read the U.S. Constitution to learn more about the framework of our federal government and our rights as U.S. citizens.

Rep. Patty Lundstrom
New Mexico House, District 9
Gallup, N.M.
