A current $10-billion Navajo economy infused from the presence of hospitals, government grants, school districts, private businesses, and government agencies has the potential to generate an annual $600 million non-discretionary revenue for the Navajo Nation government, and we continue to choose to rely on advocating for more federal funding? This is a more direct summary of the Navajo Times editorial I wrote in June 2022.

At the age I am, at 72 years old, I can still spell words that most elders can’t spell.

Here we go again. The Navajo Nation is once again facing a decision about what direction it should go with energy.

Western thought development takes massive quantities of elements from the earth to make things useful to mankind like electricity and petro. Western thought development includes non-energy economic and community development to create retail economy and infrastructure.

This is in response to the history article in your Feb. 2 issue by Mr. Arnold Clifford. This is only to clarify a location that he mentions: Los Pinos, New Mexico.
