We are about 10 months into the COVID-19 pandemic. What have we realized about ourselves, as well as our relationship to this parasitic virus? First, some called it “an invisible monster,” a beast we cannot see when in actuality it is a microscopic parasitic organism.

As surprised as anyone else, I am quite shocked with the upsurge of COVID-19 virus infections around the country. Every state in the union has spikes of un-paralleled numbers as is the Navajo Nation in the upsurge.

I have a question that could be a possible solution to the drought we know is here. Why can’t we pump water into the Southwest from severely flooded areas in the eastern or southern United States?

An executive order partially closing our tribal government services was reinstated by tribal President Nez and Vice President Lizer. The politicians, along with associates, are claiming the “COVID-19 monster” is still out there and waiting. Therefore, stay at home.

Yá’át’ééh shí Diné, close your eyes and let someone read this to you. In November 2020 the Trump wagon train and Trump cavalry came across the Southwest wanting our votes … what followed them was hate, racism, discrimination, and death.
