A candidate campaigning on economic development on the Navajo Nation is a common tactic used to lure voters and we have seen this played out since Peter MacDonald challenging Raymond Nakai.

I know this isn’t big news but I still feel I have to share this story in the hope that someone on the Navajo Nation might be able to do something to help.

One ad in the newspaper even pushed the number of jobs up to 3,500 from 1,500 in over two years, in spite of two resolutions opposing the Escalade Project.

Over the last year, Barry Weller, supervisor for District III, Apache County, along with a group of citizens from the Concho and Vernon areas, have led an effort to re-align the boundaries of Apache County.

Here it is, the last stages of the term for the elected officials of Shiprock Chapter and one wonders at the accomplishments for the community. There is an existing list of at least 100 projects that the chapter president has shared a few times and some that I will mention.
