I’m writing this letter for all of my people on the Diné Nation. How long are we going to wait? We have been promised this and that.

Most of the Diné Nation has waited for the decision of the Maricopa County Attorney Office in the shooting death of an unarmed Navajo female by a white City of Winslow Police Officer Austin Shipley.

“It is difficult to understand the rational for HB 2023. The idea of a democratic government is to encourage all to participate in government by voting – make it easier to vote.”

I’m an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation and I’m currently incarcerated in an Arizona state prison in Florence, Arizona.

About four years ago on July 21, 2012, my best friend, my late little brother Lyman Yellowhorse was murdered in Sanders, Arizona. He was 26 years old.
