While I applaud Council Delegate Eugene Tso’s efforts to do something about the stray dog issue (“Nation takes steps to confront animal overpopulation,” April 7), I’m wondering if the $267,000 he is proposing to allocate could be better spent.

In January, Council considered legislation (No. 0232-21) to approve three helium development projects for Navajo Nation Oil and Gas Company. This legislation was tabled until the spring Council session. The projects are advanced as an important economic development opportunity for the Navajo Nation.

We are outraged by Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt’s hypocrisy and blatant race baiting.

He deliberately continues to dog whistle and galvanize his base who clearly don’t understand the concept of tribal citizenship or tribal sovereignty.

Looking at the carbon capture technology program challenges, there are many reasons why we should not allow the San Juan Generating Station to continue operating because of new energy policy direction and technical specification limitations.
