Division of Public Safety meets with BFC over unmet needs

PHOENIX – The Division of Public Safety on Jan. 22 met with the Budget and Finance Committee over concerns of unmet needs in its full-year budget.

The BFC held its comprehensive budget meetings for 2025, recommending the full-year budget for each division in the Navajo Nation. Division of Public Safety Executive Director Michael Anderson, along with other division directors, addressed concerns in their budget and presented a report to the BFC members.

The report, presented by Anderson, outlined the various areas in the Division of Public Safety that could use the assistance the comprehensive budget didn’t cover. In his report, he mentioned the need for funds for general salaries, out-of-pocket building repairs, and that the expansion of division services require more funding.
