Dynamite found at St. Michaels Catholic Mission
ST. MICHAELS, Ariz.
The thunder of an explosion frightened a pigeon that flew past the streetlights of the St. Michaels Catholic Mission House Monday night.
Little did the pigeon, or the surrounding communities, know the explosive came from two sticks of dynamite being destroyed among the cottonwood trees, east of the mission, by the Arizona Department of Public Safety bomb squad.
Two sticks of dynamite were found in the basement of the St. Michaels Catholic Mission House Monday afternoon, according to Brother Jose Rodriguez, who was cleaning out the church with another person.
Rodriguez, who says he’s responsible for overseeing the mission house, said that the Arizona Department of Public Safety confirmed that the two sticks were indeed dynamite.
