Fires erupt in Tuba City and Kaibeto, prompting emergency response

KAIBETO, Ariz.
Fire crews responded Saturday to two separate fires burning simultaneously in Western Navajo – a brush fire in Tuba City and a structure fire in Kaibeto, according to the Tuba City Police District.

Two firefighters from the Navajo Nation Fire & Rescue Station 40 are actively suppressing the brush fire in Tuba City, as of 7:25 p.m. Two Tuba City Police District officers are also on scene assisting with the response.

Officials have not released details on the cause of either fire.
