Sage Memorial Hospital receives national bond finance award

WINDOW ROCK

Sage Memorial Hospital has been recognized with the 2025 Bond Buyer Healthcare Deal of the Year following an $80 million hospital revenue bond that helped support the opening of its new facility in Ganado, Arizona, according to hospital officials.

The award was presented during the 24th annual Deal of the Year Awards gala at Guastavino’s in New York City, an event that recognizes significant public finance transactions nationwide.

Hospital leaders said the bond financing reflects a shift toward greater local control in health care management in the Navajo Nation and highlights the role of Navajo leadership in overseeing complex financial transactions tied to major infrastructure projects.
