Shelly plans to host own town hall meetings on $554M

While constituents like Cecelia Nez provided their public comments as to how the $554 million should be spent, President Ben Shelly has decided to host town hall meetings of his own.
On Tuesday, Nez submitted her testimony to officials from the speaker’s office, which has sponsored public hearings on the matter, including one last week in Chinle. The speaker’s office was directed by the Navajo Nation Council’s Nabikiyati Committee to host several public hearings on the half-billion settlement in an effort to gauge the needs of the Navajo people.
