Suspect charged in Mexican Springs murder

Daniel Jimmy Morgan has been charged with murder in Indian Country by the FBI in the July 30 killing of Edison Morgan, whom chapter officials said was his father.

Edison Morgan’s body was discovered by police in a home on a sheep camp in Mexican Springs that was rented out to Daniel Morgan.

In the criminal complaint filed in connection with his arrest, FBI agents said Daniel Morgan admitted to hitting Edison Morgan, saying the two got into an argument and it became physical when Edison Morgan aimed a rifle at him.

He allegedly told agents after he got the rifle away, he kicked Edison Morgan twice in the head and used a sledge hammer to hit him in the torso.

Daniel Morgan is being held with no bond by the U.S. Marshall’s Service.
