Weather brings Navajo schools delays, closures Feb. 15

Several schools and offices announced closures and delayed starts because of inclement weather.
The National Weather Service in Flagstaff issued a winter storm warning for Tuesday as a significant cold front approached northern Arizona.
President Buu Nygren on Tuesday announced a two-hour winter weather delay for all executive branch, permanent and temporary, employees are granted two hours of administrative leave from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Feb. 15.
Here’s what we know about delayed starts and school bus routes Wednesday morning:
Window Rock Unified School District schools and offices are closed Feb. 15, the district announced Feb. 14.
Gallup McKinley County Schools and its offices are closed Feb. 15, according to GMCS. Virtual classes have also been canceled.
Ganado Unified School District issued a snow day Feb. 15.
Chinle Unified School District schools and offices are closed Feb. 15.
Holbrook Unified School District schools and offices are closed Feb. 15.
Piñon Unified School District announced a virtual learning day for its students Feb. 15.
Kayenta Unified School District schools and offices are closed Feb. 15.
Page Unified School District schools and offices are closed Feb. 15, the district announced Feb. 14. The girls basketball game will still take place today at 5 p.m.
Kaibeto Boarding School is on a two-hour delay for staff and students Feb. 15.
Shonto Preparatory School is on a late-start schedule Feb. 15.
Ch’ooshgai Community School canceled its classes Feb. 15.
Flagstaff Unified School District schools and offices are closed Feb. 15. FACTS, before and after activities, and food service are also closed.
STAR School announced a snow day Feb. 15.
Hunters Point Boarding School canceled its classes Feb. 15.
St. Bonaventure Mission School canceled its classes Feb. 15.
Kin Dah Łichí’í ‘Ólta’ canceled its classes Feb. 15.
Diné College Feb. 14 issued telework for non-essential personnel at the Tsaile main campus and the Window Rock Center Feb. 15.
Region colleges and universities:
Coconino Community College announced a delayed start at its campuses. The Flagstaff CCC campuses will open at noon Feb. 15.
Northern Arizona University is operating on a normal schedule Feb. 15. NAU President José Luis Cruz Rivera stated on social media that Lumberjacks can work with supervisors on remote/flex work arrangements if needed.
University of New Mexico-Gallup announced its closure for Feb. 15.
Navajo Technical University announced a two-hour delay schedule for Feb. 15.
