Kim Damon
RIMROCK, N.M. – Funeral services for Kim Damon, 50, of Red Lake, Arizona, will be held Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 10 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ in Rimrock, New Mexico. Burial will follow at the Milford family plot in Red Lake.
Kim Damon, May 18, 1976 – Aug. 10, 2026
Kim was born May 18, 1976, in Gallup, into the Táchii’nii (Red Running Into the Water People Clan), born for Dibé Łizhiní (Black Sheep Clan). Her nálí is Honágháahnii (One-walks-around); cheii is Tábąąhá (Water’s Edge). She passed away Aug. 10, 2026, in Albuquerque.
Kim is survived by her children, Nyome Yazzie, Dakota Wauneka, Monesha Wauneka, and Elijah Damon; siblings, Ortega Wauneka, Michael Wauneka and Patsy Wauneka; and three grandchildren.
Kim is preceded in death by her father, Kee Bahe Wauneka.
Pallbearers will be Dakota Wauneka, Elijah Damon, Ontario Wauneka, Adam Khammoungkhoune, Jeremiah Notah and Alexander Notah.
Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Silversmith, Edison Wauneka and Ortega Wauneka.
A reception will take place at the Red Lake Chapter House following services.

Helen Pinto
CHINLE – Graveside service for Helen Pinto, 84, of Valley Store, Arizona, will be held today, Sept. 3, at the Chinle community cemetery at 1 p.m.
Helen was born April 8, 1942, into the Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water Clan), born for Tł’ááshchí’í (Red Bottom People Clan). Her nálí is Tábąąhá (Water’s Edge); cheii is Mą’ii Deeshgiizhnii (Coyote Pass). She passed away Aug. 27, 2026, in Phoenix.
Helen is survived by her husband, Sam Pinto; children, Chris Pinto and Melinda Pinto; siblings, Alphonso John and Neal John; and two grandchildren.
A reception will take place at the Pinto residence in Valley Store, following the service.
