Irene S. Teller
FORT DEFIANCE – Graveside service for Irene Susie Teller, 86, of Fort Defiance, will be held Friday, Aug. 15, at 9:30 a.m., at the Fort Defiance Veterans Cemetery.

Irene Susie Teller, Nov. 11, 1938 – Aug. 11, 2025
Irene was born Nov. 11, 1938, in Deer Springs, Arizona, into the Kinyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan), born for Tábąąhá (Water’s Edge Clan). Her nálí is Dibéłzhíní (Black Sheep Clan). She passed away Aug. 11, 2025, in Gallup.
Irene attended some college and was employed at General Dynamics. She enjoyed doing bead work.
Irene is survived by her children, Abel Teller, Arron Teller and Sampson Teller; brother, Wilfred G. Smith; and 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Irene is preceded in death by William Teller and Ranzy Watson.
Pallbearers will be family members.

Judi L. Maestas
INDIAN WELLS, Ariz. – Funeral services for Judi L. Maestas, 81, of Indian Wells, Arizona, will be held Saturday, Aug. 16, at 10 a.m., at the Presbyterian Church in Indian Wells, with Henry Haskie officiating. Burial will follow at the family plot.

Judi L. Maestas, Feb. 7, 1944 – July 28, 2025
Judi was born Feb. 7, 1944, in Indian Wells, into the Tsénjíkiní (Honey Combed Rock People Clan), born for Tábąąhá (Water’s Edge Clan). Her nálí is Tábąąhá; cheii is Kinłichíi’nii (Red House People). She passed away July 28, 2025, in Winslow, Arizona.
Judi received a master’s degree in criminal justice and was employed as a former judge for the Navajo Nation. She loved to hike, read, and enjoyed Navajo Nation scenic areas.
Judi is survived by her son, Terrence Maestas; daughter, Mona Maestas; parents, Lee and Alice Lester; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Judi is preceded in death by her brothers, James Begay and Kee Lester; and sisters, Jeanette, Dorothy, Minnie, and Anne Phillips.
A reception will take place at the Indian Wells Presbyterian Church following services.
Calvin K. Toddy Jr.
BELEN, N.M. – Funeral services for Calvin Kyle Toddy Jr., 43, of Belen, New Mexico, will be held Friday, Aug. 15, at 9:30 a.m., at the Calvary Chapel (19381 Highway 314) in Belen. Burial will follow at the Terrace Grove Cemetery in Belen.

Calvin was born June 3, 1982, in Fort Defiance, into the Dibéłzhíní (Black Sheep Clan), born for Kiyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan). His nálí is Tábąąhá (Water’s Edge); cheii is Bit’ahnii (Folded Arms Clan). He passed away Aug. 2, 2025, in Belen.
Calvin graduated from Job Corps and enjoyed art and welding.
Calvin is survived by his wife, Lee Ann; parents, Calvin K. Toddy Sr. and Cecille Bennett-Luna; children, Calvin Toddy III, Dalani Toddy, Matthew Aragon, and Patrick Martinez; siblings, Julianne Bighorse, Eliza Toddy-Smith, Samantha Luna, and Karen Bedoni; and grandmother, Aileen Begay.
Calvin is preceded in death by Samuel Luna Sr., Lafie Bennett, Ernie Bennett, Elizabeth Roan Bennett, and Jimmy Toddy Sr.
Pallbearers will be Eusebio Barela, Elizabeth Barela, Liberty Luna, Samuel Luna Jr., Ethan Toddy, and Nicolas Chavez.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Toddy, Tom Caton, Darrell Bennett, Robert Bennett, and Anthony Ashley.
A reception will take place at 07 Enrique Sanchez Road in Jarales, New Mexico, following services.

Jerrison Nez
LUKACHUKAI, Ariz. – Graveside service for Jerrison Nez, 30, of Lukachukai, Arizona, will be held Monday, Aug. 18, at 1 p.m., in Lukachukai.
Jerrison was born Sept. 6, 1994, in Chinle, into the Ta’neeszahnii (Tangle Clan), born for Kinłichíi’nii (Red House People Clan). His nálí is Tó’aheedlíinii (Water Flow Together); cheii is Táchii’nii (Red Running Into the Water People). He passed away Aug. 7, 2025, in Lukachukai.
Jerrison received his GED at Navajo Technical University and studied to be an IT technician at NTU. He was a handyman who enjoyed helping his fellow neighbors and spending time with his nephews, nieces, and friends.
Jerrison is survived by his mother, Delores Nez; brothers, Vernon Nez, Brian Nez, Adrian Nez, JT Nez, and Ricardo Nez; and sisters, Valerie Chee and Melinda Nez.
Jerrison is preceded in death by his father, Jerry T. Nez; and grandparents, Alice and Albert B. Chee, and Helen H. Nez and Harry R. Nez Sr.
Pallbearers will be Valerie Chee, Vernon Nez, JT Nez, Travis Nakaidinae, Ely Thompson, and Zamora Yazzie.
Honorary pallbearers will be D’ondre’ “Pudgy” Yazzie and Haven Nez.
A reception will take place at the Nez residence in Lukachukai, following service.
