Susie A. Nez

FORT DEFIANCE – Funeral services for Susie Agnes Nez, 93, of Fort Defiance, will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, at 10 a.m., at the Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Fort Defiance, with Father Pio O’Connor officiating. Burial will follow at the Natural Bridge in Fort Defiance.

Susie Agnes Nez, July 28, 1931 – July 19, 2025

Susie was born July 28, 1931, at the Natural Bridge, into the Mą’ii Deeshgiizhnii (Coyote Pass Clan), born for Honágháahnii (One-walks-around Clan). She passed away July 19, 2025, in Farmington.

Susie attended St. Michaels Boarding School in St. Michaels, Arizona, and worked at Fed-Mart and Bashas’ as a cashier and department floor clerk. She enjoyed sports (basketball, baseball, softball), sewing and playing/solving puzzles.

Susie is survived by her son, Harry D. Nez Jr.; brother, John Teller Jr. of Flagstaff; sisters, Mary Peshlakai of St. Michaels, and Ruth Gee of Fort Defiance; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Susie is preceded in death by her parents, John and Elsie Teller; husband, Harry D. Nez Sr.; daughter, Ophelia A. Nez; and sons, Harold D. Nez and Harlan D. Nez.

A reception will take place at the Peshlakai residence at Natural Bridge following services.

Louise A. Yazzie

FORT DEFIANCE – Funeral services for Louise Ann Yazzie, 82, of Fort Defiance, will be held today, Aug. 7, at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Fort Defiance. Burial will follow at the Fort Defiance cemetery.

Louise Ann Yazzie, Nov. 27, 1942 – Aug. 2, 2025

Louise was born Nov. 27, 1942, in Steamboat, Arizona, into the Honágháahnii (One-walks-around Clan), born for Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water Clan). She passed away Aug. 2, 2025, in Flagstaff.

Louise attended Sherman Boarding School and Intermountain Boarding School. She worked for the Navajo Police Department and Window Rock Unified School District.

Louise enjoyed sewing, going to the casino, and watching Western movies and Hallmark on TV.

Louise is survived by her son, Lyman Davidson; daughters, Brenda Yazzie Phillips, Glenda Begay, Jacqueline Wilson, and Bernadette Davidson; brother, David Yazzie Sr.; sisters, Lottie Tsosie and Mary Hedin; and eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Louise is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Yazzie Wauneka and Toney Begay; sons, Bryon Price Davidson and Henry Price Davidson Jr.; and brothers, Sammie Yazzie, Jimmy Yazzie and Johnson Wauneka.

Pallbearers will be James Rodriguez, Kyle Rodriguez, Theodore Dodson III, Brian Wilson, Brandon Dapkant, and Adrian Tsosie.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lyman Price Davidson, David Yazzie Sr., Regis Tsosie, and Ronald Watch.

A reception will take place at the St. Dominic’s Hall, located next to the church, following services.

Jeren L. Tracy

KLAGETOH, Ariz. – Funeral services for Jeren Logan Tracy, 27, of Wide Ruins, Arizona, were held Aug. 1 at the Southern Baptist Church in Klagetoh, Arizona. Interment followed at the Klagetoh cemetery.

Jeren was born May 10, 1998, into the Kiyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan), born for Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water Clan). He passed away July 22, 2025.

Jeren was employed as a welder.

Jeren is survived by his wife, Adrianna Yazzie-Tracy; son, Presley Abner Tracy; daughters, Robin Hazel Tracy and Aubrey Leia Tracy; mother, Evangaline Yazzie; brother, Elias Ortiz; and sister, Amber Stevens.

Jeren is preceded in death by his father, Edgar Tracy; and grandparents, Gilbert and Pauline Yazzie, and Caroline Arviso and Edward Tracy Sr.

Pallbearers were Dion Yazzie, D’Andre Yazzie, Elias Ortiz, Brent Billie, Kendrick Billie, Orlando Etsitty, Juan Araujo, and Jorge Ponce Jr.

Rollie Mortuary oversaw arrangements.
